  8.       Fixed an initialization error in the printer and label edit routines.

  13.       You may  now print 3-1/2" diskette sleeves or inserts (you now have a
  14.       use for those plastic sleeves!).  Because of this, files that you may
  15.       have created with previous releases are no longer compatible with the
  16.       current version.   Once  again, you  will have  to recreate any Label
  17.       configuration files for use with v3.10.
  18.  
  19.       When searching  for or  saving  configuration  or  Notes  files,  the
  20.       directory that DLS is located in will be used for this purpose.  This
  21.       applies only  if you are using DOS 3.x or higher.  An option to allow
  22.       searching through the directory tree has also been added.

  24.       When specifying  a catalog  directory/file, you  may type  a  partial
  25.       directory (or  nothing), press  F2, and a Files window will be opened
  26.       to allow  browsing through  the directory tree for the needed catalog
  27.       file.

  29.       Updated the  CatDisk routines  to allow  for Disk  comments added  to
  30.       CatDisk version  7.00.   DLS will  no longer be able to read database
  31.       files produced by earlier versions.

  33.       Reworked the  color schemes slightly so that Data Window hiliting and
  34.       Pick Window hiliting is more compatible.
  35.  
  36.       The disk  title may  be entered  using  both  upper  and  lower  case
  37.       letters.

  39. v3.01 - 24 October 1992

  41.       Removed an  equipment check  during  initial  execution  that  caused
  42.       problems with  newer bios  chips that  apparently do  not store  this
  43.       information in  memory.   You would  get  a  "No  Printer  Installed"
  44.       message and the program would abort.

  46.       Fixed a minor bug that improperly initialized the drive specification
  47.       if it was set for the C: drive or higher.

  53.    New Features:

  55.       You may now save notes to a disk file for retrieval at any time.
  56.  
  57.       You may now print from 1 to 99 labels of a disk you have read.

  59.       You may now print a border around any label so that you may use plain
  60.       printer paper,  cut around  the outline,  and glue  it on  a disk  or
  61.       jacket.

  63.    Changes:

  65.       Corrected a  problem  with  Wssindex  files  where  the  comment  was
  66.       truncated at 255 characters.
  67.  
  68.       Updated the  CatDisk routines  to allow  for 43 character comments in
  69.       CatDisk version  6.30.   DLS will  no longer be able to read database
  70.       files produced by earlier versions.

  72.       Changed the  method of  configuring DLS.   There is one configuration
  73.       screen for  cosmetic parameters  and one configuration screen for the
  74.       remaining program  parameters.  The non-cosmetic configuration screen
  75.       can be  accessed when  in the  menu by  pressing the  <F2> key.   The
  76.       'Settings' window  has been  deleted and replaced by the non-cosmetic
  77.       configuration screen.

  79.       Because of  the removal  of the 'Settings' window, the 'Files' window
  80.       can now be made larger to accommodate more files being visible on the
  81.       screen.

  83.       The program  is approximately  10k smaller  in size due mainly to the
  84.       changes in the method of configuring DLS.

  86.       The disk  jacket insert  for 5-1/4"  disks now  has a complete border
  87.       printed around it for ease of cutting it out.

  89.       Fine tuned  the printing  of 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" labels to make easier to
  90.       align on a 3-1/2" diskette.

  92.       Added a new border type and removed a few color options from the Help

  95. v2.20 - 1 May 1992

  97.       DLS now  allows the user to toggle between 2 disk drives when reading
  98.       disks.   This option can be defeated by making both disk drive fields
  99.       the same.
  100.  
  101.       Support for  Avery 4240,  4-3/4" x  1-1/4", labels  has  been  added.
  102.       Because  of   this,  and  some  other  minor  changes  in  the  label
  103.       parameters, Label  configuration files that you may have created with
  104.       previous releases  are no longer compatible with the current version.
  105.       Once again,  you will  have to recreate any Label configuration files
  106.       for use with v2.20.
  107.  
  108.       Notes are now retained in memory until the "Remove" option is used or
  109.       all the  text is  removed during editing.  This also applies to disks
  110.       read from a database.
  111.  
  112.       General program maintenance.  Several routines have been rewritten to
  113.       reduce code size and several minor bugs have been swatted!

  117.       Corrected an  error when  using  the  <Alt><T>  command  to  tag  all
  118.       database disks  for printing.  A bad quantity for the number of disks
  119.       tagged was  returned which  in turn caused the Multiple Entries print
  120.       command to self destruct.

  124.       DLS now  allows the  user to  toggle database  disks so that multiple
  125.       disks can be printed with little or no input by the user.
  126.  
  127.       DLS now  allows the user to toggle files so that they will be printed
  128.       or not printed on a label.
  129.  
  130.       DLS now  allows the  user to  determine how  the Title is determined.
  131.       The default  is to  prompt the user for a title after each disk read.
  132.       If the  alternate method  is used,  the Volume  Label is used for the
  133.  
  134.       title and  the user  prompt is skipped.  You may still edit the title
  135.       using the Title Edit option in either case.
  136.  
  137.       The volume  label options have been expanded so that, if desired, DLS
  138.       does not  check at all for a volume label.  If this option is chosen,
  139.       DLS will use the Fake Volume Label.

  141.       DLS can  now be  configured  to  use  almost  any  character  as  the
  142.       separator character when labels are printed.
  143.  
  144.       You may now print 5-1/4" diskette sleeves.

  146.       Minor changes  to the  Help screens  have been made.  Most notable is
  147.       oversight on  what key to press, <F10>, when you are finished editing
  148.       a label type or printer type.

  150.       Streamlined and enhanced the error routines.

  152.       Rewrote and  revised the  disk and catalog Read routines.  The result
  153.       is much lower memory requirements with equal or improved speed during
  154.       these operations.

  161.       Added support  for some  disk catalog  programs.   DLS can  read  the

  169.       DLS now  checks for  400K and  800K disks  formatted by FormatMaster.

  188.       The help  system has  been totally  revised and  is much more context
  189.       sensitive than previous versions.

  191. v1.20 - 1 August 1990

  193.       Some changes have been incorporated into this release of DLS that may
  194.       effect you  if you  have used various options from previous releases.
  195.       The most important are:
  196.  
  197.         - The  <Alt><D> command  has been  replaced by  <Alt><G> to "Get" a
  198.           directory listing.
  199.  
  200.         - Label configuration files that you may have created with previous
  201.           releases are  no longer compatible with the current version.  You
  202.           will have  to recreate any Label configuration files for use with
  203.           v1.20.
  204.  
  205.       Other changes to DLS v1.20:
  206.  
  207.         - The  format of  how files  are printed  on the  labels  has  been
  208.           changed slightly to accommodate the previously missed fact that a
  209.           directory name  can contain  12 characters  as does  a file name.
  210.           The result  is that less information can be printed on each label
  211.           for certain label width sizes.
  212.  
  213.         - Added  an option  to allow  you to  read virtually any disk drive
  214.           that contains a standard DOS directory format.  If you read large
  215.           capacity drives  such as  hard disks,  you should  print out  any
  216.           labels using  at least  a 3-1/2"  wide label since the line which
  217.           contains the  bytes used  and free information may print past the
  218.           label edge  on smaller  width labels.   In  addition, if you read
  219.           non-standard drive devices such as tape drives, Bernoulli drives,
  220.           etc., I cannot guarantee that the Volume Label routines will work
  221.           correctly.  BE FOREWARNED!
  222.  
  223.         - A  new option to print a directory listing only has been added to
  224.           the print  options.   This option  can be  selected  by  pressing
  225.           <Alt><D>.  Suggested by Brian Lodge.
  226.  
  227.         - Rewrote  and revised the NOTES editor.  The editor behaves like a
  228.           word processor  with continuous  wordwrap, similar  to  Microsoft
  229.           Word.   As a  result, many of the previous line edit options have
  230.           been deleted.
  231.  
  232.         - Combined  the border  option for  the  bar  and  1st  level  menu
  233.           windows.
  234.  
  235.         - Combined  the color  options for  the menu windows.  The bar menu
  236.           colors can  no longer be chosen separately from the 1st level and
  237.           Nth level menu window colors.
  238.  
  239.         - The  data windows  have been  moved somewhat  and the "Files" and
  240.           "Notes" windows are now opened only when they contain data.
  241.  
  242.       Finally, certain  sections of  the program  code have  been made more
  243.       efficient, other  minor cosmetic  changes have  been made,  and minor
  244.       corrections made.   The  overall result is the incorporation of a few
  245.       more options  that I  hope will  make the program more useful, and at
  246.       the same time reduce the size of the program.

  248. v1.11 - 4 March 1990
  249.  
  250.       - Fixed  the create  volume label routine once again.  This time, the
  251.         MS-DOS function  used to  create the label would truncate any label
  252.         greater then  8 characters  long at  8 characters  while DLS  would
  253.         think the complete label was created.  This is because I originally
  254.         used  one   of  Microsoft's   "preferred  MS-DOS   functions"  (now
  255.         abandoned) instead of an older function that does work.

  257. v1.10 - 26 February 1990
  258.  
  259.       - Corrected a minor bug that invoked an error routine when creating a
  260.         disk volume  label (whether  successful of not) thus forcing you to
  261.         read the disk again.
  262.  
  263.       - Revised  the double  heading label option so that the disk title is
  264.         printed in  condensed print  on the  label where  it folds over the
  265.  
  266.         diskette thus allowing you to read the title on the front, back, or
  267.         top of the disk.  Suggested by Rick Fitzpatrick
